Project description

Developed through the Government of Alberta’s Building Community Capacity initiative, this facilitator guide and companion Workforce Participation Workbooks 1 and 2 were created to help community organizations support newcomers and their workplaces. Community agencies are often the first point of contact for immigrants who may not have access to mainstream training programs. This project aimed to build community capacity by providing practical, easy-to-use resources that integrate language, essential skills, and workplace culture. This facilitator guide for instructors and program coordinators working with newcomers is available exclusively online, no downloads, just unlimited access through your Thinkific account. Samples of authentic workplace documents are available to download for use in training. The guide includes instructions for lessons, detailed explanations of the content topics and objectives, as well as tips, best practices, teaching techniques, and more. Published in 2017.
