Workplace Safety Talks: Psychological Health and Safety
Create a workplace that is psychologically safe for workers with this set of cards for safety talks. Maintaining psychological safety is key to well-being and success in the workplace. When workers feel psychologically safe, they experience less stress and higher satisfaction in their job and they are more productive. The cards in this kit overview the elements needed for a psychologically safe workplace, how to identify psychological health and safety hazards, and how to build a diverse and inclusive workforce. Each safety card includes practical tips, realistic scenarios, vocabulary, and strategies, making them an excellent resource for training sessions or to keep around the workplace for workers to review on their own. This guide was created in collaboration with Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership at NorQuest College as part of the Partnerships for Workplace Inclusion project. Funding for this resource was provided by the Government of Alberta, Ministry of Labour and Immigration. Published in 2022
